Tradtion. Tradition!

Well helloooo,

Once again, it's been forever since I last wrote a blog update. I know. I'm such a slacker. I can't keep up with this thing. There isn't enough interesting happenings in my life. I'm just boring:)

Let's see. The last time I updated was a month ago. What happened within the last month?!

I think I mentioned last time that I was getting ready for a sort of leadership conference. Well, after a week from you know where, we finally made it to the conference. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I took full advantage of being away from school and being in a place where I knew next to no one. I met a lot of people, and, most importantly, I learned a lot about leadership. It was very inspirational:) Plus, I grew closer to the girls in my group! This is all of us:

Let's see. Because of my leadership hype, I started considering all the positions I would like to go for next year. I'm pretty stoked. I really don't want to overdo myself. I feel like I've done too much this semester. I'm applying to be a co-chair at one of the biggest events at Meredith. It's called the White Iris ball. It's a dance in the fall, and it always falls on my birthday -- so that's exciting:)

School has been going okay, otherwise. My grades are the best they've been despite the fact that these are the hardest classes I've taken. I've got three As, two Bs, and one grade that is TBA. I have no idea what I have in there, because we've not received any grades back. I'm assuming it's about a B though. The TBA grade and one of my B classes are the hardest classes I've ever taken at Meredith. They are thoroughly kicking my butt. I think part of this reason is that I'm taking three really hard classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This means that I have two days of work, per class, per day. Yeah -- that amounts to 6 days of class in just one 24 hour period. Keeping up with the work is so so so hard. I'm doing the best I can, though:)

I declared my first major the other day. Psychology! Yes, this may come as a surprise to those of you who though I was just doing Spanish. I am also doing psychology. I am torn between teaching and counseling. I figure that this way I'll have a choice:) I did the math after I delcared, and if I take at least 13 credit hours for the next four semesters, I'll be able to graduate as a double major with a licensure... ON TIME:) Yeah, that's right. I'm a beast:) I might have done my math wrong, so we'll see. Either way, I should be fine:)

Well, that's about it. It's been really chaotic despite how it may appear in this post. I'm officially on spring break now -- and I can tell. My brain is not functioning any more. It's my week to relax, so I'm going to do just that:)

I hope everyone is having an awesome year thus far!

xxoo

PS. We got our Meredith charms! It's a tradition here at Meredith to get a charm that says MC and your graduation year. You get it you sophomore year! Next year is our class ring, aka the Onyx. It's signature for Meredith. So if anyone wants to help pitch in for my ring, let me know. It's about 465, I think I totalled. I will take anything that anyone can offer:) Thanks in advance:)

This is a picture of the charm, except it says "MC '11" on it: (the charm is HUGE in person)

This is a picture of the Onyx:) I CAN'T WAIT!: (I'd get white gold)

And so it begins....

Hello again!

It's been a little while since I last updated. I'm four teeth short since I last talked to you all. Yes, that is correct. I had the wisdom teeth extracted. I didn't experience hardly any pain. I did get to experience the pampering which was exceptionally nice! I lived off smoothies for a day -- then mash potatoes and mac'n'cheese the second day, and was back on "human" food by the beginning of the third day. A speedy recovery from what I hear.

I've been in school for nearly three weeks now. Things have been going pretty well. I'm already doing better than I was this time last semester, so that's good. I am so busy though. I think I might be in over my head. We will see though. It should calm down a lot after next weekend. I love almost all my classes. I'm taking my first education class. It's amazing. I don't really know anyone in the class very well, but the whole class is a project. We have to make a real proposal for a school. We have to become best friends with the principal of the school basically. I'm excited. It's going to be hard, but I can't help but be excited about my first experiences as a potential teacher.

I filled out the forms today to declare my majors as Psychology and Spanish Education. Woo!

My family, Ana, Kaitlin, and I have been looking for apartments to live in next year. It's a new feeling looking for my own place. It's cool! I feel a lot older, even though I've been living on my own for two years. It'll be nice to not have to move ALL the time.

Nothing else has been going on, really. Tim and I have been dating for nearly 13 months now. that's a huge accomplishment in itself. Yay! We're hoping for another year;)

Well, it's almost 1:30 and I've still got a TON of work to do. Welcome to my life.....

I'll update again soon.

Time flies when you're having... Fun?

Well, I am at the halfway point of my break. It's been one of those breaks that flies by, but you're not really sure why. I've had a few good times. Mostly I've been alone. Here's a list of the things I've done:)

I first house sat at the Welsh's house. I love house sitting. It gets a little lonely sometimes, but it's nice to come back to the house and be alone at the end of the day. Plus, I had a few visits and what not from Ana. We went out to get coffee and stuff. Andrew, Ana, and I all took a day trip to Wilmington. It was an okay trip. It would have been better had I not gone. It's easier to just go without seeing him than to have to say bye all over again. It was fun though. We went to the beach and to Michaelangelo's. It's a really good pizza place. You get all you can eat Pizza for like 5 bucks. It's pretty sweet. Then we watched Madagazcar, ate dinner, and then headed downtown where it started raining, so we ended up going to PCJ (Port City Java) and hung out there before heading back to get gas and drop Tim off. It was fun. Ana and I got to talk on the way home, which was nice. It's always nice to have an hour or so conversation with your buddies:)

I can't really remember much else I did. Ana and I made dinner for her family at some point. I think it was the night before the trip. I went out with Liz too. I hung out with the other Tim (my ex). I went to see Michael Alvarado perform at the Pour House. I haven't seen him perform since I was in high school. He's amazing. Look him up on iTunes. He has some amazing music. It was a lot of fun, a little bit of a high school flashback, but fun never the less. There were lots of kids and teachers from my high school. Super awkward.

Since then I house sat at the Stephenson's. I did even less there. I went shopping a few days, but other than that I sat around watching movies. I watched so many movies it's not even funny. I watched PS. I love you twice, The Bucket List, Eragon, Lisence to Wed, Transformers, Mrs. Doubtfire, and some more I can't even remember. I made lots of cookies and cakes and whatnot too.

Tim came up to Raleigh on Friday. I got to spend a little bit of time with him which was nice. He had to leave the next day to go to Alabama to play in the band for the PapaJohns.com bowl. We lost today, sad.

That's about all that's happened thus far. I'm heading to Wilmington tomorrow morning. On Wednesday we're heading to Myrtle Beach for New Years. Then we're heading back here and I'm getting my Wisdom teeth out:( Not looking forward to that at all. Then I'm headed back to school to finish off the first half of my college career. Nuts!!!

Well, that's it for now y'all. I hope you're all doing well and had an amazing Christmas!!!

If I don't report back beforehand, have a happy new year!!!!

The first of many ....

Well,

I am officially on Christmas break. I think I must be one of the few people who actually aren't that thrilled to have it. I mean it'll be nice to have a break from work, but I hate not being around people Every break is the hardest thing for me to deal with. Mostly because I don't really have one place to go to. I go where people will take me in. It's just such a hassle. Plus, I'm one of those people who likes routines. I don't like being thrown into break mode where I'm not around the same people or doing the same things. It's always a rough transition for me.

The hardest part is always saying bye to Tim. Most of you know by now that I'm not a crier. When I do cry, it's a pretty big deal. Well, it seems like every time he goes home for longer than two weeks, I lose it. I don't know if it stemmed from stuff that happened when I was younger or what, but it's always just so hard for me to say bye -- to my friends and to my family. It's really interesting and exhausting. It might possibly have to do with my phobia of being alone. I really can't take being alone. It's a good thing there will be dogs at the house I am house sitting for otherwise I think I would die.

Well, the semester is over. I didn't do as well as I hoped, but I did a little better than I expected. I got my first B in a Spanish class since high school. I was 1.2 points away from an A! Dang it! Haha. It's okay though. I am getting sick of school. By the time school gets out in the summer I will have been going to school straight for five semesters! YIKES!

Now that I am on break, I will probably write here a lot more in order to keep myself from going nuts. So stay tuned. As for right now, I'm going to dinner with the family I am house sitting for. Until next time!!

"Santa Claus is coming to town!"

Well, hello everyone.

It's that time of year again. No, I'm not talking about super sales or hot chocolate next to the fire. I'm talking about exam times. Somehow it crept up before anyone could stop it. Usually I'm a nutcase this time of year, but it doesn't seem so bad --- YET. I've only got to take two exams. One is an oral for Spanish which should only take about fifteen minutes. The other is a history exam which will be a little tougher. My other two exams are papers. I'm not sure how those classes will go -- but my finals in those two classes will make or break the grade between an A and a B.

With classes out of the way, Christmas break seems within reach. As the saying goes, "so close, yet so very far away." Christmas break is going to be a little lonely this year. I'm going to be house sitting for two weeks straight. It'll be nice to have some alone time, but it'll also get really dreary. Luckily, both houses have dogs:) After the 28th, things should look up. I'm going to Wilmington with the State Suite and then going to Myrtle Beach with the Nails for new years. It should be pretty exciting.

The past week or two has been pretty cool. I actually got motivated and did most of my work ahead of time. I think that might be why I'm not as stressed as usual. I got to spend Thanksgiving with Tim's family. They make some of the best food. I feel like I gained a good twenty pounds -- but, hey, what's Thanksgiving without that feeling? State creamed Carolina at the football game which made the week that much better:)

This week has only been about two days long, but it seems like it's been two. I've not been sleeping well recently. Last night I was up until four, but that was mostly because I had this urge to get in touch with some family that I've not seen since I was in fifth grade. Weird, I know. Luckily, I found most of them and I've gotten to talk to them today! Woo hoo! So much has changed, that it's just weird to think about. I guess that's what eight or nine years does. Time flies!!

Well, it's late and I should be sleeping -- so here I go!!

I'll catch up later!!

"Frosty the Snowman!"

That's right, my dear friends. Mark the day. Tuesday, Novemeber 18, 2008 marks the first day of snow in NC. Friday, November 21, 2008 marks the second day leaving a "dusting" on the ground. I am going to enjoy this winter, I can already tell. I love the snow. I wish it would snow everyday, if even just a little bit. They say that this winter is only going to get wetter and colder! YAY!

So life has been going pretty well. It's drawing to the end of the semester, so it's getting pretty draining. My average amount of sleep when from about 6 to about 4. I've been so tired recently. It's getting harder and harder to wake up. Luckily, though, I get a month break for Christmas. That's about a week and a half more than most schools. Yipee!

The bad part about being so very close to Christmas break, is that I'm still so very far away. I still have one 7-10 page paper to write for Environment Ethics on a topic I haven't even picked yet. Yikes. I have a 4-5 page paper to write on a movie of my choice (about a disability) and explain what signs and stuff prove that it's that disability. I've got to study for my history exam and my spanish exam. I'm not sure what to expect from either of the last two. I know that my spanish is an oral exam, but I've not been doing the best on though. Usually I get A's on those tests, but I've only gotten one A and one B. :(

I'm pretty sure that I can pull out at least a B in all my classes, but I really wanted a 4.0 this semester. I probably would have been able to do it if I had the same classes as last year. This year was a lot more challenging, and next semester is only going to be worse.

I picked my schedule for next semester. It's pretty cool. I have a class at 9 on MWF which kind of stinks and I have a class (potentially) at 8am at State on TH. But I'm dont by 1 on MWF and 4 on TTH. We'll see how things go.

I'm also trying to get a job. They're building this new place called Noodles & Co at Cameron Village. It looks and sounds really cool. It's not open yet, so I'm hoping that I can somehow get a job when it opens. I've applied already, so maybe I'll hear back? We'll see! It would be really awesome if it worked out.

Nothing else too exciting has been going on. I'm looking forward to finishing this school year just to say I'm halfway done. Yayyy. Haha.

Well, I think that's it for now. I'm going to go back to reading and such before I go to class.

Toodles to all you readers (all three of you! :)

xoxo

Ready to be a true adult

Well, to all those Obama fans, congrats. I can't say that I'm celebrating along with you. Obama's ideals sound okay, for the most part, and I just hope that he follows through.

Life has been pretty busy recently. I'm on the go all day every day. A lot of times I don't think I have enough time in a day to do everything I want. That's partly a result of it being Corhuskin' week. It's the biggest tradition at Meredith. There are events and socials to attend. Meetings to go to. It's mayheeeeeeem. It's all over on Friday. Woo hooo.

Christmas is just around the corner (kind of). I'm so excited. Most of you know that Christmas is my favorite time of year and I start celebrating as soon as it's early enough to not be annoying.:) I think I'm going to get a new tree this year s othat I can actually have it in my room!

I'm think about either 1) going abroad this summer, or 2) doing the disney internship that Disney World offers. I don't know what I should do. Any opinions? I would love them!

Well, I'm sitting in class, but I'll update again soon!

Ciao dogs.
