Time flies when you're having... Fun?

Well, I am at the halfway point of my break. It's been one of those breaks that flies by, but you're not really sure why. I've had a few good times. Mostly I've been alone. Here's a list of the things I've done:)

I first house sat at the Welsh's house. I love house sitting. It gets a little lonely sometimes, but it's nice to come back to the house and be alone at the end of the day. Plus, I had a few visits and what not from Ana. We went out to get coffee and stuff. Andrew, Ana, and I all took a day trip to Wilmington. It was an okay trip. It would have been better had I not gone. It's easier to just go without seeing him than to have to say bye all over again. It was fun though. We went to the beach and to Michaelangelo's. It's a really good pizza place. You get all you can eat Pizza for like 5 bucks. It's pretty sweet. Then we watched Madagazcar, ate dinner, and then headed downtown where it started raining, so we ended up going to PCJ (Port City Java) and hung out there before heading back to get gas and drop Tim off. It was fun. Ana and I got to talk on the way home, which was nice. It's always nice to have an hour or so conversation with your buddies:)

I can't really remember much else I did. Ana and I made dinner for her family at some point. I think it was the night before the trip. I went out with Liz too. I hung out with the other Tim (my ex). I went to see Michael Alvarado perform at the Pour House. I haven't seen him perform since I was in high school. He's amazing. Look him up on iTunes. He has some amazing music. It was a lot of fun, a little bit of a high school flashback, but fun never the less. There were lots of kids and teachers from my high school. Super awkward.

Since then I house sat at the Stephenson's. I did even less there. I went shopping a few days, but other than that I sat around watching movies. I watched so many movies it's not even funny. I watched PS. I love you twice, The Bucket List, Eragon, Lisence to Wed, Transformers, Mrs. Doubtfire, and some more I can't even remember. I made lots of cookies and cakes and whatnot too.

Tim came up to Raleigh on Friday. I got to spend a little bit of time with him which was nice. He had to leave the next day to go to Alabama to play in the band for the PapaJohns.com bowl. We lost today, sad.

That's about all that's happened thus far. I'm heading to Wilmington tomorrow morning. On Wednesday we're heading to Myrtle Beach for New Years. Then we're heading back here and I'm getting my Wisdom teeth out:( Not looking forward to that at all. Then I'm headed back to school to finish off the first half of my college career. Nuts!!!

Well, that's it for now y'all. I hope you're all doing well and had an amazing Christmas!!!

If I don't report back beforehand, have a happy new year!!!!

The first of many ....

Well,

I am officially on Christmas break. I think I must be one of the few people who actually aren't that thrilled to have it. I mean it'll be nice to have a break from work, but I hate not being around people Every break is the hardest thing for me to deal with. Mostly because I don't really have one place to go to. I go where people will take me in. It's just such a hassle. Plus, I'm one of those people who likes routines. I don't like being thrown into break mode where I'm not around the same people or doing the same things. It's always a rough transition for me.

The hardest part is always saying bye to Tim. Most of you know by now that I'm not a crier. When I do cry, it's a pretty big deal. Well, it seems like every time he goes home for longer than two weeks, I lose it. I don't know if it stemmed from stuff that happened when I was younger or what, but it's always just so hard for me to say bye -- to my friends and to my family. It's really interesting and exhausting. It might possibly have to do with my phobia of being alone. I really can't take being alone. It's a good thing there will be dogs at the house I am house sitting for otherwise I think I would die.

Well, the semester is over. I didn't do as well as I hoped, but I did a little better than I expected. I got my first B in a Spanish class since high school. I was 1.2 points away from an A! Dang it! Haha. It's okay though. I am getting sick of school. By the time school gets out in the summer I will have been going to school straight for five semesters! YIKES!

Now that I am on break, I will probably write here a lot more in order to keep myself from going nuts. So stay tuned. As for right now, I'm going to dinner with the family I am house sitting for. Until next time!!

"Santa Claus is coming to town!"

Well, hello everyone.

It's that time of year again. No, I'm not talking about super sales or hot chocolate next to the fire. I'm talking about exam times. Somehow it crept up before anyone could stop it. Usually I'm a nutcase this time of year, but it doesn't seem so bad --- YET. I've only got to take two exams. One is an oral for Spanish which should only take about fifteen minutes. The other is a history exam which will be a little tougher. My other two exams are papers. I'm not sure how those classes will go -- but my finals in those two classes will make or break the grade between an A and a B.

With classes out of the way, Christmas break seems within reach. As the saying goes, "so close, yet so very far away." Christmas break is going to be a little lonely this year. I'm going to be house sitting for two weeks straight. It'll be nice to have some alone time, but it'll also get really dreary. Luckily, both houses have dogs:) After the 28th, things should look up. I'm going to Wilmington with the State Suite and then going to Myrtle Beach with the Nails for new years. It should be pretty exciting.

The past week or two has been pretty cool. I actually got motivated and did most of my work ahead of time. I think that might be why I'm not as stressed as usual. I got to spend Thanksgiving with Tim's family. They make some of the best food. I feel like I gained a good twenty pounds -- but, hey, what's Thanksgiving without that feeling? State creamed Carolina at the football game which made the week that much better:)

This week has only been about two days long, but it seems like it's been two. I've not been sleeping well recently. Last night I was up until four, but that was mostly because I had this urge to get in touch with some family that I've not seen since I was in fifth grade. Weird, I know. Luckily, I found most of them and I've gotten to talk to them today! Woo hoo! So much has changed, that it's just weird to think about. I guess that's what eight or nine years does. Time flies!!

Well, it's late and I should be sleeping -- so here I go!!

I'll catch up later!!

"Frosty the Snowman!"

That's right, my dear friends. Mark the day. Tuesday, Novemeber 18, 2008 marks the first day of snow in NC. Friday, November 21, 2008 marks the second day leaving a "dusting" on the ground. I am going to enjoy this winter, I can already tell. I love the snow. I wish it would snow everyday, if even just a little bit. They say that this winter is only going to get wetter and colder! YAY!

So life has been going pretty well. It's drawing to the end of the semester, so it's getting pretty draining. My average amount of sleep when from about 6 to about 4. I've been so tired recently. It's getting harder and harder to wake up. Luckily, though, I get a month break for Christmas. That's about a week and a half more than most schools. Yipee!

The bad part about being so very close to Christmas break, is that I'm still so very far away. I still have one 7-10 page paper to write for Environment Ethics on a topic I haven't even picked yet. Yikes. I have a 4-5 page paper to write on a movie of my choice (about a disability) and explain what signs and stuff prove that it's that disability. I've got to study for my history exam and my spanish exam. I'm not sure what to expect from either of the last two. I know that my spanish is an oral exam, but I've not been doing the best on though. Usually I get A's on those tests, but I've only gotten one A and one B. :(

I'm pretty sure that I can pull out at least a B in all my classes, but I really wanted a 4.0 this semester. I probably would have been able to do it if I had the same classes as last year. This year was a lot more challenging, and next semester is only going to be worse.

I picked my schedule for next semester. It's pretty cool. I have a class at 9 on MWF which kind of stinks and I have a class (potentially) at 8am at State on TH. But I'm dont by 1 on MWF and 4 on TTH. We'll see how things go.

I'm also trying to get a job. They're building this new place called Noodles & Co at Cameron Village. It looks and sounds really cool. It's not open yet, so I'm hoping that I can somehow get a job when it opens. I've applied already, so maybe I'll hear back? We'll see! It would be really awesome if it worked out.

Nothing else too exciting has been going on. I'm looking forward to finishing this school year just to say I'm halfway done. Yayyy. Haha.

Well, I think that's it for now. I'm going to go back to reading and such before I go to class.

Toodles to all you readers (all three of you! :)

Ready to be a true adult

Well, to all those Obama fans, congrats. I can't say that I'm celebrating along with you. Obama's ideals sound okay, for the most part, and I just hope that he follows through.

Life has been pretty busy recently. I'm on the go all day every day. A lot of times I don't think I have enough time in a day to do everything I want. That's partly a result of it being Corhuskin' week. It's the biggest tradition at Meredith. There are events and socials to attend. Meetings to go to. It's mayheeeeeeem. It's all over on Friday. Woo hooo.

Christmas is just around the corner (kind of). I'm so excited. Most of you know that Christmas is my favorite time of year and I start celebrating as soon as it's early enough to not be annoying.:) I think I'm going to get a new tree this year s othat I can actually have it in my room!

I'm think about either 1) going abroad this summer, or 2) doing the disney internship that Disney World offers. I don't know what I should do. Any opinions? I would love them!

Well, I'm sitting in class, but I'll update again soon!

Ciao dogs.

Hello all!

Here I am, bored, once again. I'm seeing a trend here.

This week has been okay. It's been pretty insanely busy. I've had four papers, two tests, and a heavy duty assignment due all in one week. It's pretty draining, I'm not going to lie. On top of all that I've had meetings out the whazoo. Goodness gracious.

I don't really know what else there is to share. Hm.

I went to my parents house the other day to celebrate my birthday. It was pretty cool!

Sorry I didn't have more to say, y'all. My brain is off today. :\

Later taters!

Boredom is insanity

So, I'm sitting in the library at State and couldn't be more bored. I don't know what to do with myself. I continuously flip between facebook, wral, gmail, and miniclip just waiting for something to pop up and spark some sort of interest. I've got nothin'.

Gracious.

Anyway, so I am twenty years old now... big whoop. It does feel pretty amazing to say 20, though. No longer a teenager. However, I am becoming an old fogie. It's weird to think that within the next five years I will probably be married, and within ten have a toddler! CRAZY! Life is flying... I'm not so sure I like it.

My birthday was okay. I got to go to the fair with Angie and her daugters. It was a lot of fun. I got the girls to ride a lot of rides they usually wouldn't. We got to eat a lot of food, which, thanks to the Whales back in the day, I haven't been able to get enough of. However, I did really well this year. I shared stuff with people -- and only got one thing for myself -- and that was my beloved deep-fried candy bar. I only get one a year. It was delicious:)

After that I went out shopping with Spencer. That wasn't such a good time. It was great to spend some time with Spencer, but it was terrible, because I've gained a lot of weight and haven't bought clothes as a result. Needless to say, trying on clothes that didn't fit for four hours didn't make me feel too great. That's okay though. I'm working on it:)

I just started a diet/exercise plan on Monday. I've done well the first two days. I've only got 2.5 months left. Haha. My goal is to lose 15-20 pounds which is completely doable and healthy:) Hopefully at that point I will be more comfortable and happy with my own body.

Every week I just look forward to the weekends. It seems that the weeks are just chocked full of meetins, classes, work, and the like. Even the weekends are pretty busy. Blah!

Well, it's getting colder. I'm in need of a winter coat and it's only October. Goodness! Maybe this is promising for snow? Doubt it, but we'll see!

Alrighty, well I'm going to go back to my boredom. I'll update soon enough:)

xoxo

And my teenage life draws to an end....

Well, hello folks.

Fall break has come and gone. I can hardly believe I had a break. I come back and my week is cram-packed. Goodness. It's going to be a busy one, but that's okay. I only have two tests and a ton of meetings. Yayyy. Haha.

So for fall break I went to Wilmington. Woot. It was a pretty good weekend. There were a TON of birthdays. Tim's Dad (Al), his brother's (Aaron) girlfriend (Danielle), Tim's, and my birthday are all in the month of October. It was pretty crazy. So we had a cookout at the Nail household. It was pretty sweet. I got to eat lots of home made food which is always a bonus:) I got a new sweater from the Nail's for my birthday. It is pretty awesome! I don't have a sweater, so it was very much needed!

Tim and I went to go see Beverly Hills Chihuahua with his godfamily. That was interesting. I thought it was going to be a terrible movie, but it was actually OK. I won't buy it, but it wasn't terrible.

Other than that, this weekend was pretty dull, which was good. It was nice to relax for the most part. We came back last night and went to IHOP with Brad (Tim's roomie). That was awesome. Sometimes breakfast for dinner just hits the spot!

Today.... monday (gross) ... has been a pretty good day for it being Monday. I went to class and actually knew what went on in my first class. My history class was a different story. It was SO hot. I had to fight to stay awake. Plus, my professor smelled so bad! It was gross. Spanish was the same -- except we did mini projects, so I didn't necessarily have to listen. Woo hoo.

After all that, I went to work and got off early. Then, Jamie and I went to the mall to pick up shoes and jewelry for the White Iris Ball on Friday:) I'm gonna look pretty cute! I'll post pictures when I have them!

I get to go to the State game on Thursday! Jamie and I both get to go! We are so stoked! Hopefully we'll win, but we all know how that goes:) Loyalty... loyalty!

I'm looking forward to this weekend. I've got the ball, the fair, and my birthday this weekend. Apparently there's "nothing" special planned for my birthday, but I'm not allowed to make plans... hmm... secrets.

Anyway, it's my last week as a rowdy teenager. Woot.

Well, farewell I suppose!!! If anyone reads this, leave me a comment so that I know that I'm not just doing this for the heck of it. Haha.

Thanks guys!

Fall is here!

Hello all!

It's been forever and a day since I last updated -- sorry about that. I don't think many people follow anyway, but, hey, it's relaxing:)

Nothing too exciting has been going on. Classes have been whooping my tail. If it's not a ton and a half pages of reading, then it's not passing a test I thought I'd have flying colors on. I suppose I could take it slow and focus more, but who does that;)

I'm trying to do this new thing where as soon as I get done with work (EVERYDAY:( ) I will do my homework. It worked last night, let's see if I can do it again.

Fall break is next week, and I couldn't be more excited! Following fall break is my Big 2-0 and White Iris Ball! I can't wait:) It's going to be a great week that week:)

Tim and I just had out 9th month together. Jeez... nine months. Props to you all who are at more than a year. It seems like no time, and yet forever all at the same time:) They've been the best!!!

So, I'm finally starting to do college life the right way. I'm getting involved... I'm having fun... I'm lacking in sleep:) I've just got to get the academics down now that my classes aren't as easy to get away with.

Once I finish it, I'll take a picture of my awesome bulletin board I had to make for RHA (Residence Hall Association). I'm the president of my dorm, so I've got to make an awesome bulletin board every other month... oh yeah, and I've got to go to RHHC every other Sunday. RHHC is Honor Council for the residence halls. Bring a boy in your room off hours -- you'll answer to me;) Cause I'm so rough and tough..... HA!

Well, I'm sitting at work, incredibely board and exhausted. Fridays are the worst sometimes. I'll be here till 5:(

I hope you're all doing well!!! IT'S FALL!:)

I'm out!

Weekend Potentials!

Hello All!

Well, today marks the seven year anniversary of 9/11. Seven years. That's two years of middle school, four years of high school, and one year of college later for me. So much time has passed, so much has changed. Remember the importance of this day. Remember the lives that were lost. Remember the lives that continue to be lost.

Let's see. In the last two days, things have been going well. I've aced every assignment (miraculously) and I've been payed! Yeah! Now, I'm only kind of broke, and I'm thrilled about tomorrow being Friday. I've decided that I might get my cartilage pierced with Jamie on Friday, but we'll see how much courage I have for that:) The only bad thing about tomorrow being Friday is that I've got to get up SUPER SUPER early to do a balloon order for MEA. High school senior preview day. . . and so it begins again. Haha.

On Saturday, I've got another balloon order, and Jamie and I are going to have a roomie day. We go'n' chill!

Life's pretty dandy for the moment. Let's just hope the storm cloud doesn't roll in any time soon:)

I'm out!
Raschelle

PS. A month and eight days until the 2-0!

Utter boredom.

Hello All...

Well, I don't really know what to update. Life's been pretty boring. Work, School, and Sleep. That sums up the activities of my days and weeks.

Things are going well. School is dragging along.

A month and ten days until the big 2-0. I'm an old fogie.

Mmm -- yeah. I'm headed out to babysit. I'll update more when there's more to say:)

Later gaters,
Raschelle

Oh, I have gone 4 days without soda! Wooooo! Haha.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Well,

It's Tuesday (kind of like Monday this week), and I've got to go back to class. How tragic! This weekend was a lot of fun, and it was wayyyy too short.

I ended up going hope with Tim. We left a little too late, because I accidentally fell asleep after work. Tim was worried about me, because he was waiting outside for about an hour calling everyone he knew who went to Meredith. He finally sent my friend Annelise in to get me. Whoops!

The drive there was fun -- we got there put a load or two of laundry in, and then conked out. On Saturday, we went over to the football fields to watch Zion play football for the Panthers (mini-league). Sadly he lost! His team looked awesome though:) Afterwards we went to get a Flat-Screen LCD TV for Tim's dad. That was interesting.

After all that -- we went to Oak Island! For all of you who don't know the significance of that -- Oak Island is were I lived for the first year or so of my life. I've only been back once since I was little. My grandparents old house is there. I got to see it! I took pictures -- but they're on Tim's phone, which he forgot. It's even prettier than I remember! After that we went down the the beach (a block down) to go crabbing and to watch some baby sea turtles hatch. We were out there until 10ish -- but I got to see my FIRST shooting star:) Whooot!

Nothing too exciting happened on Sunday besides church. Tim's family and I tried to plan a Disney vacation. We'll see how that goes;)

Yesterday was lots of shopping and a ride home. We did eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. That was good:) Really good actually!

So, here I am. It's "Tuesday" and I"m awake too early for comprehension:)

Well --- I'm outta here!!!

Workin' Workin' Workin'

Well, I must say that these first two weeks of school have been two of the most gruesome and exhausting weeks. I didn't think that this year would be any different than freshman year workload wise. Boy! I was SO wrong. After talking to my roommate -- we've decided that they're testing to see whether or not Sophomores can actually read -- that's all I've been doing. Reading, working, reading, working -- you get the point. It's crazy. I've been on the go non-stop from the time I wake up to the time that I can go sleep. No lie! No exaggeration.

However, other than being wiped out, it's been a fun and eventful two weeks. I can't really complain about being busy, because it's what I asked for. It's nice to not be sitting around all day. I think it's good for me. I feel all official and all having "places to go, people to see, things to do."

Nothing too amazing has happened. I might get an internship at this school up the street. It's called the Governor Morehead School. It's a boarding school for the visually impaired. We'll see how that works out. I emailed the lady asking for more information about the job. Keep me in your prayers! Who knows if I'll even be able to handle it emotionally. All I know is that the lady told me it would be nights and weekends and I would just go and keep the kids entertained.

It seems that my life is being laid out in front of me. I decided to double major in Psych so that I can switch to counseling if I decide I don't like teaching. Also, it seems that all my friends are getting married and having cute little babies. I can't decide if I feel left behing, or jealous, or just amazed at how life works out for different people! Who knows!

NC State lost last night -- 37-0, or something like that. While it was a pitiful loss -- they did hold their ground first half. They're allowed to lose their first game. Plus, they lost their main quarter back before the end of first half. OH well!!!

Well, I'm at work right now, and about to head to class. Woo hoo! Environmental Ethics -- you know you all love it!

'Till next time!

OH! And I forgot to mention the fact that I got to go to the John Mayer concert FOR FREE. It was awesome. My friend was offered six tickets, and OF COURSE she took them. It was an amazing concert:) He's an amazing guy and singer!

Give it a shot:)

Well, basically, I know a good amount of people who use these blog things. I haven't used once since middle school -- and it's definitely not like riding a bike. I've spent the past week trying to figure out how to put up a background. Dang, do I feel ancient;)

I suppose I should update people with my life. ... ... .. Yeah, there's not much to say. I've been attending summer school at NC State to keep up with my Spanish Lingo. Yes, yes; I am a nerd. What can I say? Luckily, though, with the class I just took, I'm pretty sure I'll be confident in my super Spanish speaking abilities enough so to go to SPAIN next summer! Woo hoo!

I will be going back to Meredith on Tuesday (August 12th). I am so excited! i can't wait to be with my roomie and all the other MC girls. Meredith didn't feel right last year, mostly because I got caught up in the NC State scene. I realize, now, that I would have missed MC way too much to have transferred. Therefore, in the fall, I will be attending MC full-time. I will have, officially, declared my major as Spanish with a licensure in education (k-12). I am also considering a double in Psych, but we'll see how that goes.

Life's been pretty grand for the most part. There haven't been any serious issues for a while, and, as many of you know, this is quite the accomplishment. Money has been okay, family has been okay, and school has been great. Overall, I'm the happiest I've been in years! Woo!

Though I still have two long months until the date, I'm almost twenty. While many of you are already twenty or older, it seems quite the big deal. Not because I expect it to be, but saying aloud, "I'm twenty years old," just feels like a 100lb. bag just got tossed on your back -- more responsibility and expectations. I suppose that, after high school, I can probably handle it:)

I suppose I should mention the current boyfriend. We've been dating for more than seven months now. Quite the accomplishment I must say! Things have been a little rocky recently, but mostly because school has been stressful and we've been hanging out everyday... all day. :) He's the best thing that's ever happened to me, though. It sounds cliche, but true. We're just taking things one step at a time. After all, we're only 19 -- we've got quite a few years to live before anything serious happens!

Well, I think that's about all. I've got a final exam tomorrow == I'm aiming for an A!! Wish me luck:)

xxoo Raschelle

It's a new day!

This is just a test post -- hold up:)
